Steaming fumaroles at sunrise at El Tatio Geysers, 4300m above sea level.

It was a 4am start to get up to these geysers, 95km north of San Pedro de Atacama, in time to watch the sun rise. When we arrived, it was -7 degrees C, but as the sun climbed higher, it rapidly warmed up.

We breakfasted on coffee and boiled eggs, cooked in a boiling fumarole.
