Overcrowding on public transport - three people on a bicycle!

It was early eveing in Nha Trang, and Al and I were enjoying a fruit-shake by the roadside (we had ordered beer, but I guess our Vietnamese wasn't too good!) when these three cycled past.

Salt field worker, Nha Trang

Toiling away in the blazing midday sun - a salt field worker near Nha Trang.

The Vietnamese consider pale skin attractive in the same way as a suntan is viewed in the west. Even though it's boiling hot, this worker is still covered head-to-toe to prevent a suntan.
